• Serves as a Joint Planner in the Strategic Plans and Futures (SPF) Division.
• Serves as staff advisor and subject matter consultant for Future operating concepts and strategy.
• Coordinates comments on strategy documents, joint concepts, instructions, memorandums, operational plans, and directives pertaining to contingency operations, disaster response, and consequence management as a DLA representative.
• Integrates joint concepts into DLA long-range strategic planning and Global Posture planning efforts in support of development, transition, and implementation.
• Integrates high level Department of War planning guidance by understanding the unique blend of tactical to strategic level combat support, combat service support operations, and how DLA impacts operations.
• Provides subject matter expertise on DLA planning for Joint and Service Future Concepts and Wargames.
• Serves as an authoritative source of information on key knowledge of Joint Force Requirements Process and Functional Capabilities Boards. Qualifications To qualify for a Strategic Planner, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Directly working with military information and logistics systems, wartime and emergency logistics, DoW, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Military Services worldwide supply logistics support reflecting clear demonstrable knowledge of their policies, doctrines, and systems. Determining, evaluating, and executing Joint and Service Future Concepts and Wargames in accordance with advanced management systems, organizational principles, practices, and programs. Demonstrable work leveraging tools such as Wargames, exercises, models, and simulation to generate actionable and objectively defensible courses of action. Demonstrable work within organizations focused on developing, evaluating, and refining multi-year strategies Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
